I removed 2 programs from the start up list using Windows Defender, Windows
Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. When I restart my computer Windows Live
Messenger still opens wanting its password. Why is it still opening up at
start up? I opened Defender and looked and it is no longer shown.

Have a look in Windows Live Mail or Windows Mail, whichever program you
might be using. Tools-Options , on the General tab, see if the box to "
automatically log on to windows messenger" is checked. If so remove the
check and see if that helps.

They carried that over that nuisance to Windows Fail? LOL! When will
Microsoft learn?

Open Windows Live Messenger, click the Tools option followed by Options. In
the options window, click the General tab. Remove the tick from
'automatically run windows messenger when I log on to windows' in the sign
in section and then click apply followed by OK.

When you next reboot Windows Messenger should not open automatically. To use
messenger you will need to open the application manually.

Many users of WLM and YM actually like that feature. When will you learn?

I can't help it if people are stupid and use Windows Live Messenger, the
number one portal for malware around.

Unfortunately, these users will never learn. I have, btw, and none of my
machines have Windows Live Messenger.

I opened Live Messenger and clicked tools then general tab and unchecked
what you said. Thanks for the information.

You can't help being stupid by trying to shove Ubuntu down everyone's
throats.
