Defender keeps finding a trojan that it cannot remove. It would appear it has
something to do with advertising. I am asked ro re run defender becasue it
can not be removed. Sending a report to microsoft consistenly fails and the
whole process continues again until i eventually close defender. "ignoring"
the finding does not work either. I have Trend micro Securuty Suite and it
has never found the same trojan. Nor has 'spy hunter ' found it.
Should i disable Defender?

You might disable , then try some shareware ;

Ad aware or spy bot search and destroy

be sure you get the correct site before you download..

Hi Julsie

It's VITALLY Important to always give the name and (if possible) the
location of any Malware found when asking for help regarding removing it.
Every different Trojan/Virus/Spyware has certain traits that make removal
different for many of them, so please give us the name of this and any other
information you have regarding it and we can check on what needs doing for
you.

Install Spybot Search & destroy from the link below. and update it, etc.
THEN reboot and go into Safe mode.
Info on how to do that are also below!
In Safe mode rescan your computer with Spybot S & D, and Trend Micro, which
you have installed already..

Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

Important re: Safe Mode
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall / delete, reboot
the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from the list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with Spybot S & D while in Safe Mode.
