I'm a novice computer user. When I start up my computerI get an error
message stating: Application failed to initialize; 0x800106ba. A problem
caused windows defender to stop. To start service reboot or search help and
support to find how to start the service manually. I rebooted, same message .
I went to help and support and couldn't find the answer. Could someone help
me?

Please post in one of the newsgroups specifically set up for the Windows
Defender program. This is not one of them.

A number of users have not updated the Beta versions, which expired on
31 December 2006. Wouldn't simply asking this question and pointing
them to the Windows Defender update site be a more helpful solution?
