Windows Defender Update I need help

G

Gui..

Hi there!
Well, I've been trying to update my Windows defender through Windows Update
for one week, and it didn't find any available updates neither for it nor for
any other thing... I'm getting worried about it, but I don't know what it it.
Even when I try to update Defender manually, it does not find anything.
What can it be?
Last week, I found out that my Office 2007 is forged. Can the problem be
occurring because of it?
It's just my Office that was forged (but I'll correct it!), but my Windows
Vista is original because I already validated it twice and I do have the
license for it..
Please help me.. ;)
If you can't, can anyone at least pass me the website I can download the
updates for Defender myself?
Thanks a lot!!!!!!

Hello Gui..,

Have the system scanned here for the presence of a malware known as
undo\Virtumonde:

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software
<http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315>

First - ensure you do not have "Vundo". Clean it up if you do.

It seems possible that your Windows installation has been deliberately
damaged by a trojan (Vundo, along any uninvited guests. (SDBot and ZLOB, all
protected by a rootkit.)) so as to prevent you updating your system or
removing the trojan.

Your first priority must be to cleanse your PC of all malware.

A very good antimalware app is SUPERAntiSpyware.

There is a free version (on demand scanning only), the paid for version
includes active monitoring, similar to Windows defender:

The trial version of SUPERAntiSpyware Pro (SAS):

Good luck

Hi there again Engel!
Well, I'm here to tell you my results about windows defender updates: yes,
the hint you told me really worked! Man, thank you a lot, I just don't know
what to say..
I scanned my pc with a boot scan from avast 4.8, the I scanned with Ad-aware
2008 and then with windows defender (but first I updated it manually)
After scanning with this all, I made windows update seek updates for my pc
and it found some important updates! =)
Thanks again!!!
