Greetings!
It's only for ask... I dont know what happen' with windows defender in my
machine (OS: Windows vista). When system starts the program is shut down and
a message displays: error 0x800106ba. What can i do?

Could you please give us a little more information?

Most notably, what other security software are you running?
That is, are you running other Antivirus/Antimalware programs in real time
[e.g. at start up of the computer?
Are you running perhaps running one of the McAfee suites [A/V & AntiMalware]?

If so you need to be aware that in Vista some versions of McAfee disable
Windows Defender on purpose [as they serve the same function] , if this is
the case you need to disable Windows Defender.

The more information you can give us the better

?:-)

I may not be on again today to see your reply so I post this Possilbe
solution -> IF <- you are using a McAfee Suite that contains it's own
AntiSpyware component and is stopping WD from starting.

Ok, so If you are running a McAfee suite that contains it's own
AntiSpyware/Adware functionality you need to disable Windows Defender, here's
how:

[From the McAfee support site:]

Description
The 2009 McAfee consumer products for Windows Vista disable Microsoft
Windows Defender to improve system performance. Windows Vista users who have
installed the 2009 McAfee consumer products should not enable Windows
Defender. After Windows Defender has been enabled, the following error
message is displayed at every computer restart:

"Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused this program
service to stop ..."

Solution
Disable Windows Defender.

1. Click Windows [Start] and then select All Programs.
2. Select Accessories.
3. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator...
4. Type the following commands (NOTE: The space between = and " is required):

sc config WinDefend start= "disabled"
sc stop WinDefend
5. Press ENTER.

[ That should stop Windows Defender from trying to run on start up, let us
know if this works for you ]

The latest version of AVG also disables Windows Defender--the same solution
should work.
