Windows Defender is explicitly supported on Windows Server 2003, and it has
32 bit and 64 bit versions. That said, I don't know the answer with regard
to either the R2 versions, or 64 bit Windows Server 2003 in general, or
Storage Server in particular.
This is the relevant part of the "system requirements."
. Operating system: Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, or Windows
Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or later.
I would read this as saying "yes", but you might want to find other
users with that version of Server 2003 and see if they have experience to
share.
