I downloaded Windows Defender on Saturday, March 25th. When it scans and it
finds something to remove I click on remove it, I am guessing/hoping it
removes it and I get the following message:

Action Taken: Remove
Status:Failed 0x80004005.....

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

I have the same problem except I found about 20 yellow triangles, however, I
don't see any "buttons" to paste the content back to here. Also, the filter
doesn't work. I have to leave it on "all events".

Dear Engel:
Thank You for your reply, but this morning the same thing happened and I
cant copy and paste anything, the right click option to copy doesnt work. But
here is the problem below.

Name: Grokster
Alert Level: Medium
Action: Remove
Status: Failed 0x80508026

If you believe your system is stable and in good shape--you can purge all
old restore points and that will get rid of these files.

To do that, right click My Computer and choose Properties.

Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore on all drives
Click Apply.

Then UNCHECK "Turn off System Restore on all drives and click apply. You
will need to wait between these steps while the process completes.

A further scan should show no spyware in the System restore area.

Spyware files in the System Restore area are not active threats--there is a
possibility that they could become active if the restore point was used, but
otherwise they are safe to leave in place.

Hello Engel, I followed the same advice that you gave to Holenpep but I don't
have a "System Restore Tab" on "My Computer" Properties. Maybe it is because
I have Windows 2000 Professional OS. Please advise what I can do. Thank you.
