Windows Defender - Not Updating

I installed it. FAQ said it would uninstall MSAS. Installation was faulty,
and MSAS was not completely uninstalled. I did manual removal of MSAS files
and uninstalled/reinstalled Windows Defender. It checks for updates but does
not get any! Are there supposed to be updates? Also, personally I do not like
the new interface and some of my favorite tools are missing. What about IE
settings. BHOs,toolbars, hosts file, etc. This thing is not better than Beta
1 as far as I'm concerned. How do I get it to update? It is not blocked by
McAFee firewall; interface has access to internet. The things I liked best
about MSAS are missing.
 
Thanks for posting - think I will wait a while on this - according to the MS
site, current MSAS Beta users will be notified when update is available. It
might be best to wait until they notify me, -and some of the "bugs" are
worked out. Sorry for your problem, Old Rebel.
 
I don' have an answer about what is happening with the update
mechanism--I've seen it on one out of 6 machines, so far--i.e. most update
fine.

I don't know what the limits are of actions in response to feedback, in
terms of this beta, but I wouldn't expect expansion of the available tools
at this point--refinements of the available ones, perhaps...
