Can anyone help with this? I've already unistalled and reinstalled this
program and still get the sam message.

you get the "sam" message or the "same" message... Just confirming it's
nothing to do with sam security account. If you cannot complete an update and
it's your first time trying, a small, simple command is needed to be run in
order to prepare for the update. Follow the few steps, and you'll be set...

1- Go to Start-> RUN , click the Run icon...

2- In the run box, type or copy/paste the following line:

msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}

3- Click Ok... A Box will appear asking you to uninstall the current version
of the update, Click yes. This will uninstall the current update and enable
the new one to be installed.

4- Go to Microsoft Updates and install your new version

Note: Current signature and engine should be updated to version below.
Updates come every few days depending if needed. If you installed the
original version, both the signature and engine will be updated to below:

Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1303.0
Signature Version: 1.14.1361.6

Also, so far, I don't know anyone else who had the problem, but I received
an error after this specific version update, but when I looked it up, it was
the correct version. It could have been a personal computer error, or it
might be something else. No matter, the update did work once I looked at the
program. If this is your first time using the program installing, updates may
or may not be needed to be done like this, but if you do have a problem with
installing in the future, the same process steps can be done every time as
new definitions come around. Good luck!
