My brother is having difficulty installing Windows Defender onto his Windows
XP Professional (SP2) machine. He`s just installed Windows and it was one of
the first programs he installed after his anti-virus. Every time he tries to
install it, he`s getting the following message:
Service `Windows Defender Service` (WinDefend) failed to start.
Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services
We`ve both had a search on the internet for a solution and it seems that
only people who have Windows 2000 SP4 have this problem.
Is there anything that can be done?
Thanks in advance.
