A window with the message that Windows Defender has stopped working comes up.
I click to close it and it goes away. Sometimes it comes right back but I
keep closing it and it goes away. If I try to access Windows Defender it
gives an error message 0x80016ba. I called the tech support for my computer
let them look at my computer.
The tech said that Windows Defender file is corrupted. First question..how
did that happen? I am running Secure IT so he said I don't need Windows
Defender. Is that a correct assumption. He said if I try to reinstall
Defender I will loose all my info and settings. Is that correct? If I don't
want to ignore the Defender messages is there a way to remove it? Thank you

i had the same problem here. try to turn on the activation of the windows defender! type services on the search bar on the start menu, Click Services once it appears. look out for the service calls windows defender and click with the right button. click in properties. in the startup tipe, choose the option automatic. restart your computer then your problem should be solve!

here are a link that should help.
