I had the WD icon show up in the sys tray yesterday with an exclamation
point and, opening it, the last definition update showed as a couple of
weeks back (something like 1.57.181.0). I also have auto notification
for updates and it usually works, but nothing with this one. However,
when I ran the updater from within WD yesterday and today, it always
returned "no new updates available." What would you make of that? (I've
since updated manually)

Bill Sanderson said:In several cases posted here, updating manually seems to fix the issue of
the updates not appearing automatically. So--I'd wait and see. You should
also watch to see whether AutoUpdate is working for other critical patches.
Next Tuesday there will be at least two patches issued via AutoUpdate, so
watch for those--one for Powerpoint, if that is on your machine, and the
Malicious Software Removal tool--there might be others as well.
