Hi,

I tried to install the new anti-spware on my computer but got this error,

the windows installer service could not be accessed. this can occur if youre
running windows in safe mode, or if windows installer service is not
correctly installed. contact your support personal for assistance.

And I have the latest version of msi installed

Hi Tom,

the solution you suggested didn't work,

and the msi missed up with the other files.

When I click on the other exe files with the installed, it says the same
message.

Hello msdnuser06,

Be sure you have Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable (v2)

Before installing Windows Defender again, right click Microsoft Start
(lower left corner of screen), click Explore, at top of screen, click Tools,
click Folder options, click File Types. Scrool down to MSI. Make sure MSI is
associated with Windows Installer Package.

I hope this post is helpful.
