Hello to all, I am new here.
Just signed up so forgive me if this question has been asked, if it has
could you point me in that direction.

I loaded Live One Care onto my new computer with Vista Home Premium.
Should I disable Windows Defender, if that's possible?
What about the built in virus scan as well in Vista?
Any comments are welcome.

Thank you,

Hello Montauk;

It's not generally possible to readily remove Windows Defender from Vista
as it's integral to the OS and should not be removed. However, WLOC does
disable the standalone Defender since it uses Defender code internally as
it's Anti-Spyware component. If you're trialing WLOC, you'll probably want
the standalone Defender back to operational once the trial is over if you
decide not to purchase a OneCare subscription, so you wouldn't want to
remove it anyway. I wasn't aware of a built-in Vista virus scan, perhaps
you mean firewall? If so, WLOC's firewall is more robust than the firewall
that comes internally with Vista.

The peer support newsgroups for WLOC, where most of your questions can be
answered, can be found here:

Let OneCare take care of this for you--I believe it will do whatever is
needed for Windows Defender, and for the firewall--you shouldn't need to
make any additional settings or changes.
