Running windows vista home premium 32 bit. Windows crashed today. In
problems and solutions recommended install kb 938979, but I installed it
November 30, 2007.

Windows Vista SP1 NOT installed. Running McAfee Security Center. I was
just surfing the internet when this problem occurred.

How can this be recommended to fix a problem when I
already have it?

Hi,

It may just be an isolated incident. However, crashes involving lsass.exe
often originate in third party software, hence the reason I ask about your
Mcafee software. It's known to interfere with system functions (and lsass is
one of them).
