Hi all,

We got Windows error (Inaccessible_Boot_Device) while
booting and the system halted.
We tried to repair the OS (Win2K adv server).
The server used the third-party software (FastTrak from
Promise Technology) to emulate IDE HardDrive RAID 0 to be
2+0 configuration RAID (2 HDs in stripping/spanning
configuration)
we'are re-installing / repairing Windows 2000 server with
Promise technology (Fasttrak100) for emulating IDE
Hardrive RAID 0.
In installing, Windows asked to insert third-party driver
and we uploaded driver for FastTrak100 in a diskette.
It seems, the system runs normally. After uploading the
driver, we go to the next step but Windows sends message
that Windows could not finf any harddrive installed.
Do you have any experiences or suggestion regarding this
issue ?

Highly appreciated your help

thank in advance

You'll want to boot the Windows 200o CD-Rom or setup disks and *F6* very
early and very important (at setup is inspecting your system) in the setup
to prevent drive controller detection, and select S to specify additional
drivers. Then later you'll be prompted to insert the manufacturer supplied
Windows 2000 driver for your controller in drive "A"

If you wait and then S to specify additional drivers, then it may be too
late as Windows 2000 Setup at this point may have already assigned the
resources your drive's controller is wanting to use.
