You can try running system restore also. go to start, run and type MSCONFIG
and click Run System restore and restore it from the time before he played
his game.

In correct English, the word 'hanged' is reserved for people - everything
else is referred to as 'hung', though it's a little archaic these days, it's
still the more correct.

Hi I need help very urgently.

I have another Dell PC which has this problem, my son was online playing a
game when suddenly the system hanged and he tried to reboot it.

The following message appeared :-

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\windows\System32\Config\System
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows Setup using the
original Setup CD-ROM
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair"

I've tried using the windows reinstallion CD but the same message still
appear.

Could you please help?

Thanks

Chris
