Whenever I add a new contact or start a new contact group, once I click the
Add button I get the message that Windows Contacts has stopped working. I
have rebooted a couple of times and this has repeated over several days.

Any ideas?

Can you give us a list of the third party security software you are running,
especially antivirus and anti-spyware.

Ciao, lo stesso problema accade per i miei contatti. Quando desidero
eliminare un contatto o un gruppo di contatti Internet Explorer smette di
funizonare!!!!

I am running Norton Protection Suite. Personnel Firewall ON, Intrusion
Prevention ON, Spyware Protection ON. Basic Security ON.

Unfortunately, Windows Mail is not compatible with most Norton
or McAfee security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

I have installed Symantec Internet Security and Live Update and the issue
persists. I have rebooted the box three times and still having issues with
Windows Contacts.

Did you mean you *uninstalled* Symantec Internet Security?
I hope so.
Any other third party security software like anti-spyware?
If not, I have run out of ideas, and my only remaining suggestion
is to try Windows Live Mail:
