i just recently (maybe a month?) reinstalled my OS (xp pro). and recently i've been having problems with windows CONSTANTLY forgetting my window settings! on my origional install it did a good job of differentiating "movie" directoriest and "picture" directories, and automatically assigning a thumbnail view to them. but it doesn't even do that anymore. i have "remember individual window's settings" checked in the folder view options, but that doesn't mean anything. i have "my documents" and "my documents\download" set to "detail" view. and i have them resized to a wide window. but once or twice in a 24 hour period i'll come back, double click on the shortcut and it will pop up in a square window with thumbnails view. and i have a dump directory where i just copy lots of crap files, and it seems like every time i open the stupid directory i have to change the view setting from "thumbs" to "list" because i NEVER remembers.

does anyone know how to fix this? it's REALLY annoying as you can imagine.
