On a friend's computer, it has happened twice that open windows close
themselves at any time.

What kind of virus is this ? if any ?

it's generally not possible to diagnose a virus problem by symptoms or
filenames... if you think you have a virus, scan your drive... if you
think you have a virus your scanner doesn't detect, try a different
scanner or send a sample suspect file to an anti-virus developer for
analysis...

Might be the Sumom C virus, a right little bugger, comes through msn, even
in safe mode it will be active.

See if it has put these dummy files on your C drive:
