windows cleanup?

Anybody have a recommendation for a windows 98 cleanup program?

By this I mean:
Windows chews itself up every so often. I need a software that will
go in and undo some of the damage.

I had a pay-for-it program from Norton or McAfee or somewhere, and it
worked pretty well. But after a while, even it caused its own
problems.

Please respond to the group, not to my email.

PS Please don't recommend that I just upgrade to a newer Windows.
