I recently upgraded the RAM in my laptop from ECSusa.com.
I had to flash the BIOS to make the new chip from Crucial
specifically made for my unit to even recognize the chip.
Now the BIOS recognizes the 256mB and says 16x16 SDRAM on
the BIOS screen. My problem now is that eventhough I've
gone into the Bios and reloaded the optimal settings, AND
the 128mb chip works fine, AND the 256MB chip boots using
Safe mode, it gives the following message after I try to
log in with the profile I always use.
"Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you
on to the default profile for the system. Insufficient
system resources to complete the requested service".
Then the system hangs with a blank screen and drive access
light thrashing, then after minutes returns to the login
username/password screen.
When I login in SAFE mode with 256MB, MyComputer >
Properties lists the amount of RAM as 32,412Kbytes...NOT
256,000Kbytes.
any help would be appreciated and posted or e-mailed to me.
