Nate dubya

I tried to use Microsoft's site to cure this but found
nothing but useless information, I'm hoping someone can
help me find a cure to this problem, heres the displayed
error message: Windows cannot find the local profile and
is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you
make to this profile will be lost when you log off.

Thanks, Nate "Dubya"

PS: I am very unsatisfied with the uselessness of
Microsoft's site, and feel that I shouldn't have to give
away personal information to Microsoft just so I can get
some *F* help, its rediculous that I pay for this product
and than am expected to pay again to have it fixed,
you've really crossed the line this time Billy.

Hi Nate -

I'm not sure if you're on some kind of network; I found a lot of references
to this one in regards to roaming profiles, are you using roaming profiles?

If not, try this and see if it works:
-Login as an admin on the machine (other than your usual profile)
-Create a new user and copy all your data from your account (from your
c:\documents and settings\(user)) to the new user
-Log out, then log back in as the new user. You'll have some settings to
move over, but this might do it.

Also, take a look at this and see if it applies to you:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;248368

Post here if any of that works, and if not, I'll try something else.

Here's some other questions that might help:
1) What OS are you running?
2) Have you been able to log into this account in the past?
3) Are you trying to log on to some kind of network when you log in?
