Guys, I have a little problem here. I have an AD domain with one DC and 2
other member servers and when I go to My Network Places and browse the
network, I can seamless see a list of all workstations (my 2 member servers
and my single DC) and servers. The network IP is 10.10.10.0/24
I have a second VLAN, 10.10.20.0/24 where I have another member server. I
joined this member server to the domain, added a subnet in AD Sites and
Services that corresponds to this 10.10.20.0 subnet and also created a
reverse lookup zone in DNS for this subnet. Everything on this network is
2003 ent. sp2.
The problem is that when I go to My Network Places at the member server
sitting at the second subnet, I can't browse the network. I do not get a list
of all the computers on this AD domain.
So, on this member server, I stopped the Computer Browser service, rebooted
and it was worst. I put it back where it was and then tried the
MaintainServerList key at the registry. I set this key to No and rebooted and
same thing (this time windows told me that I didnt have permissions on the
network)
I also do a browstat status on this new member server at the second subnet
every 2 minutes and I never see the main DC listed. I always see the name of
this member server and nothing else... or sometimes I don't see anything
listed.
Looks like the problem is because this member server sits at this second
subnet (which has no DC residing in it) and not at the main subnet.
can you please help?
