Hi

I have a issue with windows backup tool

I had an external hard drive and the file system was fat32 which i didn't
know off.

When i started to back up data with windows tool i got an error message at 4
gig saying that the file system FAT32 can not created single files greater
then 4 gig and to be able to exceed that amount i had to use NTFS.

I then converted my 80 gig external hard drive to NTFS

but now i cannot back up any information anymore.

Whenever i start the backup process the program will scan for 0 file and
complete the task when in reality i have almost 40 gigs to backup.

I have tried many things to na avail

help would be greatly appreciated

thank you

Changing the file system on an external hard drive has no effect on
Windows Backup. Something else is causing your problem.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally erase the folders you are trying to
backup?

Not sure but you need to check if the external drive is still at the
same drive letter as it was when in FAT32.

No I did not erase any data. The data is still there. For some reason it
seems Windows backup Tool does not see the files anymore.

I tried to re-format my external drive and recreate a Backup file but again
no succes.
I now have to manually drag my files and folders into the external HDD.
