Windows XP \windows\apppatch\drvmain.sdb

My computer (not the one I am using) does not boot. I receive an error message:
File missing or corrupt:
\windows\apppatch\drvmain.sdb
I do not have the original disks to reinstall.
Help!

This might be a bit difficult without you having the disks. Do you have a friend that has an XP disk ?If so borrow their disk and do a repair install and this should sort the problem out.
 
If you can't even get in to safe mode, the only way to fix it is to use the original XP disks :)
