How am I supposed to know what program is involved when I get this warning from the Windows AntiSpyware Notice:
An Internet Explorer Web browser object requires your approval.
I got a choice to "Allow" or "Block" -- at first I chose Block, but then I get another warning that said something about things not working if I did that, so I chose Allow. I didn't know if it was an Earthlink Tool Bar update or what? How do I tell what it is?

Already I can see that my font settings have been changed!

Actually, I'm looking for help in MS AntiSpyware, not Defender.

So do you recommend upgrading to Defender -- I'm reading a lot of
unhappiness with it.

If I don't do the upgrade, what is the significance? No auto updates on
spyware prevention? Or will the program cease to work?

Jack

YW. Support for MWAS will end very soon.

If you wish to continue /beta/ testing Microsoft's anti-spyware offering,
yes, install Windows Defender Beta2. (Installing it automatically
uninstalls MWAS.)

If you don't do so, MWAS will continue to work but, shortly, MS will no
longer offer any updates for it so it'll be as useful as an anti-virus app
running with outdated definitions.
