I am using Windows Vista Ultimate and my switch between screen feature is not
working properly. I have dicovered that Windows Aero is not in the Color
Scheme as a selection. How can I activate that feature to include Windows
Aero in the color scheme?

Thanks

Troubleshoot problems with Windows Aero:

In the mean time, your only option is to use Alt-Tab to cycle between
programs (you probably knew that already).

What is your Windows Experience Index score/rating?Also please do provide
the sub-component-level scores.

Which brings us to the next questions: Did you install the most recent ATI
drivers and the Catalyst software? Did you rerun the Windows Experience
Index test afterwards. And what ATI graphics card do you have?

You should tell us the exact model of your video card. It may not support
Aero.

Yes this is the results.

Then I think Colin may be right. The graphics scores are so low, your
graphics card probably does not meet Aero hardware requirements.

Tell us what card it is, or just take a look at ATI's support site for
yourself to find out.

I think this is the video card "ATI MOBILITY RADEON Xpress
200 Series"

Radeon Xpress 200 supports Windows Aero (barely), but I have seen machines
with this card and ≤1GB of RAM default to the basic Vista theme more than
once.

Hi Charlie42,
It just seems odd that worked before I reinstalled Windows Vista. I was
getting a desitination error. I was told to reinstall Vista as a solution.
When installation was complete I begin to receive the notification about the
ATI Control Panel. My focus was to fix that problem. I have almost run out
of options. I must find a way to get the ATI icon running in the tast bar to
resolve this issue. As a last resort, I would have wipedown the hard drive
and start over,an undesired option.

If it worked before, then it is a driver issue.
After reinstalling Vista, did you reinstall Motherboard drivers ?
If not, look into it.

Sorry to say, but I am not sure that will do it in the long term either.
Computers with hardware that is up-to-specs, but not by much, tend to get
trouble with Windows Aero as more strain is placed on the system resources.
