WIndows XP Home, Toshiba laptop
After restoring the system to it's earlier time, I keep getting the
following message when I try to login. "This copy of windows must be
activated with Microsoft before you login. Do you want to activate?". After
clicking on OK it logs off, won't log in. I dont' know what to do...

I forgot to mention, when I click on OK to activate the windows, I get the
following message "Windows is already activated, click OK to exit" and when I
click on OK it keeps login off instead of log in.

It may be that your activation has become "unregistered." Try
this solution, posted by Carey Frisch, MS-MVP:

Possible Resolution:

Boot into "Safe Mode" by pressing (F8) during a reboot.

Go to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 regwizc.dll , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type: regsvr32 licdll.dll , and
hit enter again.

Hi Bruce,
I followed your instruction, both of the *.dll files registered ok, but I
still keep getting the same message

That's too bad. Since this is an OEM installation, you should probably
contact the laptop's manufacturer for support, or check their support
web site for any tips.

I don't understand how he is going to boot into Safe Mode in order to try
these solutions is the activation message won't let him logon. Is it
possible to still boot into Safe Mode if the machine is not activated?
