From time to time, accounts in Windows 2000 Active
Directory Domain will become locked out. The users will
vary and this will happen at different times and days.
We removed NetBIOS over TCP/IP and WINS 4 days ago. Today I
can in and found over 90% of the user accounts were locked
out.

What do you think ???

Did you remove WINS and NetBios to address the lockout issue or did the
lockouts occur after you removed those items?
If 90% of the accounts were locked out at one time then it is possible
someone is trying to crack your passwords. You might want to verify that
you network is properly protected by a firewall.

If it is a regular account lockout issue you can use the following tools
etc for guidance.

The lockout issue happened after we removed NetBIOS and WINS. We have a fire wall in place.
