windows 98

After downloading MS's beta spyware (30 mins. later), get
message that it won't work w/windows 98. Seems like they
should tell you up front, or at least disqualify you durin
the win authen. check. Now what? I need to get rid of
the spyware on my computer before I take a hammer to it.

Any ideas?

There are links to system requirements on the download page, and they do
list the versions that the program is compatible with.

Here are three URL's. Most of the information, with the exception of this
Microsoft Antispyware download, is entirely applicable to your machine, and
there are links to third party apps which are also applicable to the older
OS versions.
