i'm trying to get an old P1 machine to see a sound blaster card. the card
works and it's detected in other machines. the machine in question is
running windows 95. when i plugged it in and booted up i expected that it
would be detected. it wasn't. i ran the add new hardware wizard. it found
nothing. i installed the driver manually but it didn't even appear in the
device manager. i put another disk in and installed windows 98. that didn't
detect the sound card either. i tried switching PCI slots. made no
difference. i tried changing the "pnp bios auto config" setting from enabled
to disabled. (it's an award bios from 1995) that made no difference. i
noticed that the bios always reports "initializing plug and play devices" at
boot regardless of the "pnp bios auto config" setting. i'd wanted to
configure it to not do that and let the os do it but i can't find a setting
in the bios to turn the pnp bios support off. is there anything else i can
do? should i try to get a newer bios? thanks for any help.

Just download the drivers from http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/
