Hi There,
While trying to close a open file on a PC on our domain I
discovered an intresting problem.
If I browse the domain (using network Neighbourhood) I can
happly see all the PC's connect to the domain and access
shared drives etc.
It is a single Domain network. Nothing fancy.
However when ever I actuall have to "do" somthing on the
domain (close resources file's ect) I have to use
commputer manager on the domain controller (2000 server
with exchange 2000). In here you are told by the Tech
articals to "connect to the computer" by right clicking on
computer managment and "selecting" the computer you have
to work on.
Funnly enough less than 50% of the computers currently log
on to the domain are listed here. The "find" dosnt find
the computer or on the one occassion it did it insted it
was on another domain!. Any one know how to get 2000
server to actuall ackwoledge what PC are connected to it?
And before any one asks the obvious...yes they are all on
the domain, they can all run the shared applications and
access the SQL DB on the SQL server and can all use the
exchange.
