Mine from ZipZoomFly, and why you Britts pay so much (L150 UK Pounds is
almost 300 US Dollars!) is beyond me.
Maybe your government should be easier with taxes!
Nothing to do with taxes, the only tax the UK gov takes is 17.5% VAT - it's
Microsoft's greed. The same happened with Vista.
I asked MS UK why Vista in the UK was twice the price in UK as the USA (the
DVDs are pressed in Ireland so there's no transporting across the Atlantic)
and they gave me some stupid reply about taking the GDP per capita into
account in what they charge! And me a Management Accountant! (Especially
when the GDP per Capita is GREATER in the US than the UK!)

and maybe you should learn how to fix your clock. I know it's way over your
head so I suggest calling tech support and they can walk you through the
process. Don't be afraid.

It's good to have friends and family in the US so one can get a good
price. With the dollar at its lowest in some time, Windows 7 is almost
as cheap as Ubuntu.

When you count in wasted time using Ubuntu, Ubuntu costs more. Best to stay
far away from that INFERIOR Ubuntu.

Tell everyone.

Two things, idiot:
1) What was the point of the link if you knew it was not possible for UK
customers to get it from there?
2) Full retail version is $319.99, about £193. So I got a better deal than
the US customers. Where's the rip-off now?

Even at Amazon's current price (£169), it's still cheaper than newegg.

Actually, if you have a friend or relative in the States, you can.

You can buy a generic OEM version without having to buy a computer or
hardware from New Egg. In the EU, Microshit has someone convinced them
to not allow generic OEMs to be sold without a complete computer. Last I
checked, 189.99 US Dollars (what NewEgg charges for Win7 Ulitmate
generic OEM) converts into a little less than 115 quid, old son. Anyone
that buys retail is the idiot.

Got my retail Home Premium for £44....(well it was a pre-launch
offer.......)

And anyone who abandons Windows for Ubuntu is an IDIOT.

Remember, Ubuntu was written by geeks for geeks who can't get laid.

Rather pay $300 for Windows, than $0 for your Upuntoo.
Windows is for Winners, Upuntu is for Koala bears and 3d world

Funny thing is: Where would you get $300? Stick with Ubuntu

And how much is shipping? (from newegg, and then again if your relative in
the US wants paying for shipping it abroad). Probably works out the same as
i paid for retail.
My Vista was OEM as i refused to pay £229.00 for it three years ago.

There is a place like New Egg that does ship to Europe. I just haven't
had the time to find it again.

Shipping is about 11 US Dollars for express shipping through the US Post
Office and it arrives in 3 to 5 days. If it were sent by regular air
mail, less than two dollars.
