Sorry,
Didn't find a post for 7, I'm downloading Windows 7 from the Technet site,
which downloads as a .iso file. My question is what do I do with the file
after I've downloaded it. I tried to boot off of it as to get ready to
install the OS but nothing happens.
Thanks Craig

Hmmm. If you don't know what to do with an iso........
Two things. Some Virtual Machine applications allow you to mount an iso to
install from, or, use a burner application to create a bootable disk from
the iso. Nero will do it, so will CDBurner XP Pro (which is free and the one
I use). There are others...

Craig,
Download and install Imgburn. http://www.imgburn.com/
Now you can burn the .iso to a DVD and boot to it.

You have to burn the iso to a CD or DVD and do the burning with a
program that handles iso files correctly. There are a number of such
programs to choose from; I use a freeware program called ImgBurn.

You then have to boot from the CD or DVD you created.

You burn it to DVD, and it makes a bootable DVD. If you don't have
software to burn to ISO, google "Express Burn".

If you don't know ISO, you're not supposed to be subscribed to technet or
playing with such downloads.
What you're downloading is a 3-month tria anyway, do you want to go thru
hassle of uninstalling & reinstalling th emonster in 90 days or you hope
to crack it to continue using?
But if you don't know ISO you probably can only crack nuts.

Forget it.

I guess you're completely clueless, right?
The full (not trial) RTM Windows 7 has been available via both TechNet and
MSDN subscriptions for some time now.
Thanks to other, helpful, responses, the OP now knows what do do with an
ISO.
Try to keep up ;-)

No, TechNet Plus has the full, unlimited versions of their OSes.
The number of installs is limited to ten in older versions such as XP
but there is no time limit. I've had XP installed on one of our test
machines
for over a year with no problems.

ok, still the perosn doesn't know ISO which indicates he is using someone
else's account or simply paid for subscription for God knows what reason,
while not being a techie at all.
