Steve Ballmer made this announcement at the C.E.S keynote this evening.

(disclaimer: Running beta versions of an operating system is not for the
faint-hearted. You need to have an excellent backup and restore process so
that you can recover in the event of disaster, which is quite possible.)

That said, I intend to load it on both my main machines...
