Windows 7 Windows 7 onto laptop?

My brother asked me about installing windows 7 [Full] home premium onto his Acer laptop [Vista] rather than the upgrade?

What do I need all the bull-shyte Acer put into the laptop for he asked.

So apart from drivers anything else I need to do the swap over?

Yes I have the Windows 7 disc. in doing so it will rid Acer cluttering the HDD.

Oh how I hate laptops:nod: .

Ya need nothing else..Stick the disk in the CD/DVD and let it do its thing....Simple as that...:thumb:

Erm can you re write this so we can understand it please ? If I think it s what it says..THe new instal will rid the laptop of all the Cer Empowering Tech sh*t...

Aye, boot from CD, choose custom install as opposed to upgrade and as MadX says, let it do it's thing.

I ain't fond of laptops meself... ;)
 
Go to the Acer site and pick the model, it has all the extra bloateware there to re install. ;)

Nah i had to do it for me bro, he got one of them acers wit hteh funky media buttons on the side, i uninstalled all the crap only to find the nice buttons didn't work lmao, so i had to go find it and reinstall it.... :(

I hate Acer tbh. Load of crap.

Ah Ok I get ya..Erm I worked for Acer for about 8 years.Needless to say I built up a hatred to. They are actully pretty good computers. THe Acer Laptops are mostly made up of b grade Sony parts. What f*cks Acers up for us is the stupid Acer Empowering Tech..Get shot of that and you are good. As for the buttons. I forget how now, but even after getting rid of the Acer crap you can asign different functions withing Windows to those buttons, just like you can on a fancy gaming mouse..

I have all the drivers etc, as has been said W7 has all one needs for this that and the other I can’t see any problems evolving, I go along with FBS laptops? Build me own Desktop PC no problems buy one manufactured and your trouble starts. :D

Erm there is no need tocollect allthe drivers. Stick the disk in and select custom and just let W7 do its thing.THere is no need to install drivers etc, that will all be done for you, just plug your ethernet cable in from the start..
