I've just been round to a friends house to set up an ADSL router on a new Windows 7 laptop. We plugged the modem/router in and connected the phone socket, and then connected to the unsecured default network name via the wireless connection.
Windows 7 somehow detected that this was a new modem and proceeded to automatically rename, secure and configure the router. Very clever indeed, and much easier than connecting to the web-admin.
I don't know if this works with many makes (this one was a NetGear), but this is a fantastic new feature that I didn't know existed until today.
