Hi all,

My ASP application used to run fine but this evening whilst upgrading it I
ran into problems with it sending emails - the following error was generated
:

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'
Server.CreateObject Failed
/aspform.asp, line 660
800401f3

I have tried running 2 seperate apps/pages which used to send emails fine
which now fail - my theory being that my recent upgrade to Windows 2003
Server has caused the problem.

I know I have to setup roles for each set of components/features with W2K3
etc, however, within IIS it already has listed Default SMTP virtual server -
I've done nothing with this admittedly...but I assumed enough was installed
to send emails using CDONTS...

Question: Do I need to run the role that sets up both POP3 and SMTP - or
does it suggest (from IIS) that I should already be ok?

Within the Default SMTP virtual server there are 2 more branches - Domains
and Current Sessions - nothing is displayed with either...

Any help would be appreciated as I need to try and complete this section of
the application this evening and these email problems are causing delays!

Regards

Rob

CORRECTION-

Under domains the domain that the server is running on is listed as is
another item which looks like a unique identifier
