My Windows 2003 server does not see my USB storage. The USB drive appears
under disk management and device manager/disk drives. My XP machines see the
drive. Any ideas?

Yes. The same USB ports work with my mouse or key board.
Are the USB slots known to be working with other devices?

I have a Windows 2003 Ent. Server. I tried a Maxtor and a Western Digital USB
drive that I wanted to use for backup purposes as tapes are a pain and no
luck. I see the drive being recognized, it appears in the device manager
under disk drives, but I can't see it under my computer.

Anyone have any ideas???

It does not show in disk managment. Only in device manager and if I want to
remove the usb safely using the usb device removal.

Whoa, AJ! Time out. Do not hijack someone elses thread. It only confuses
the issues as to what information about the problem is correct. Please
start your own thread with particulars as to your problem.

I thought we have a similar problem.

Similar problem with different causes and symptoms. Please note the
original thread is that the drive DOES appear in disk management. You
claim it doesn't in your second posting. So you are back to square one.

Ok, so do you have any ideas?
