I am using Windows 2003 Server and I have a fax server setup on it with the
software that is included. The problem that we are having and the problem
that a friend of mine is also having (he gave us) is that the fax server
seems to drop a lot of incoming calls. It's not too bad on outbound
traffic, but incoming traffic is horrid. I used to have it running on DSL
line -- it's better since I brought the DSL in bare. I also used to have it
running on a USR Windows 2003 certified internal fax modem. It's better
since I switched to USR Courrier 33.6 Externals (off of ebay for $20 each),
but it really doesn't work as good as I think it should. We have more than
a few customers complain that their fax machine does not like my fax
machine. Any other thoughs on this subject? Anyone have a fax modem that
they consider to be working GREAT with it? Or, perhaps are there settings
that I should set differently?
