I want to bring a w2003 dc into my network can anyone point to me to a KB
article that will light my way...? I have 2 w2kDCs in the domain in a
nonMixed environment with FQDN all in the same subnet.

You are (likely) using non-technical terminology so it is difficult to
predict your
exact configuration and your intended actions. Mixed mode is not an issue
for
Win2003 DCs, just another choice.

For older clients (mixed network, not "mixed mode") the NT and 9x machines
may have trouble with the default Win2003 DC "SMB Signing" unless you
upgrade them with the (misnamed) "AD Client Upgrade", aka DSClient.

You install a Win2003 Server. Before doing the DCPromo to add it as a DC,
you must Forest Prep and Domain Prep (this domain) -- both are done through
an included program called "ADPrep" but there are several methods of doing
the
install where you may just see this run "as part of the CDROM autostart."

Have you search google for:

[ 2000 2003 upgrade domain forest DC | "domain controller"
site:microsoft.com ]

Or something similar....
