I just setup a new office on Saturday, 10 workstations using
Windows XP pro connecting to Windows 2003 Standard Server.
It was my first experience with Windows 2003 server. It
seems faster, more robust in many ways. There are 2 issues
which might be interconnected:
1) - the server can ping every workstation
- every workstation can ping each other and the gateway
- the server cannot be pinged by ip or name, although
when you try to ping by name it first shows the name
and then times out
2) when you are at ANY windows XP pro workstation and you
log in to the domain, it takes around 2 minutes to authenticate
and bring you to the desktop. Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance !
