I have written an application in Access 97, which I am
beta testing. The program was written and works on a Win98
computer properly. The database is compiled to an .mde
file and installed as a runtime using the sagekey key
installation scripts. When the reports become more than
one page long only the last page is printed. The last page
is printed first and then a blank piece of paper is feed
from the printer. I presume the blank piece of paper is
meant to be the first page. I have checked all of the
printer setting and every thing is fine.

The reports include a subform which has the header
information and two levels of grouping for the report data.

Any ideas or similar expirences would be greatly
appreciated.

I have searched MSDN but could not find any metion of bug

Regards

Andrew

Andrew:

There could be a number of things:

1.) You don't indicate if just your sub report isn't printing (assuming its
on the first page) but look at No data issues.
2.) Look at the printer drivers on the install machines. Are their dpi
settings set 600 or greater? Have updated drivers been checked for for the
target printers?
3.) Since its spitting a blank page after the last page, that normally means
that your margins are not set properly for the report, (i.e. the report info
is hanging slightly over the margins, but not enough to print something).
4.) Do the reports preview correctly?

Dear Steve,
Thank for taking the time to reply
Here is the additional information I left out from the
first post

1.) You don't indicate if just your sub report isn't
printing (assuming its
on the first page) but look at No data issues.

The subreport is formating and loading data correctly
correctly
It all shows up in the print preview

2.) Look at the printer drivers on the install machines.
Are their dpi
settings set 600 or greater? Have updated drivers been
checked for for thetarget printers?

I cannot find the dpi settings for the printer, I have
been through the help and searched for dpi, it just gives
Quality Settings of Best, Normal, Draft and Custom. It is
currently set to normal

Have updated drivers been checked for for thetarget
printers?
The drivers were installed from the Win2000pro disk not
the manufacturers disk.

3.) Since its spitting a blank page after the last page,
that normally means
that your margins are not set properly for the report,
(i.e. the report info
is hanging slightly over the margins, but not enough to
print something).

The blank Page does not show up in the print preview,
which is normal if the margins are not set correctly. I
have reduced the page width with no change. I also prints
perfectly in win98 to the same printer.

4.) Do the reports preview correctly?

The report(s) are previewing perfectly

I have just found that it is all of the reports, so a
three page report prints the last page and feeds two blank
pages

I have tried different printer settings such print last to
first, first to last etc with no change.

Any ideas are appreciated.
