First, this is the hardest discussion group to find.
I have heard rumors that Windows 2000 is discontinued and no longer
supported, is this true?
Can I still purchase copies of Windows 2000 OEM?

You need to check with your dealers to see if they still stock Win2000.

Yes, Windows 2000 has been discontinued and Microsoft no
longer supports it although security updates can still be
downloaded. As for obtaining copies of Windows 2000, OEM
or retail, look around. There could still be unopened boxes
at computer swap meets, re-sales through ebay, auctions, etc.,
as well as discards from IT departments of organizations.
If installing Windows 2000, also install its SP4.
