Hi,

We have a just added a windows 2000 server to our NT network evironment.
This server has its own workgroup and a fixed IP address. When we do a
search for this server from a NT machine, the server is found with the name
of the workgroup as its location.
When we double-click the icon of this server, we can access the shared
folders and files.
But when we right-click the icon to explore this server, we get an error:

<workgroup name> is not accessable.
The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently unavailable.

Also when we browse the network environment, we cannot see the workgroup of
this server.

Any ideas what setting on the windows 2000 server we may have to change to
make its workgroup visible?

Workgroup or domain?

If it's a domain you'll need to create a trust relationship between the NT
domain and the 2000 domain.

Make sure NetBIOS is bound to the connection. Also these ones may help.

Thanks guys!

The browser service was not started. After I started the service, the
workgroup became visible and the error messages were gone.
NetBIOS is not bound to the connection and I didn't change that, because as
far as I can see now, everything works fine.
Is it still neccesary to bind NetBIOS?
