Windows 2000 with SP4 hangs when multiple applications run

I have a Pentium 4 2.6 GHz with Asus P4P800 mobo with
GeForce FX 5200 and runs Windows 2000 Professional SP4.
Whenever I run multiple applications like mostly I run
Winamp, VC 6.0, Word 2003 and Windows Explorer, the
computer stops responding, even the task manager takes
some time to come up. The mouse also moves very slowly.
i had gone through a knowledge base which suggested the
same problem and suggested to use a hotfix which comes
with SP4. So fundamentally I do have the latest version
of ntfs.sys. I have other computers with the same problem
who have exactly the same configuration. Please suggest a
solution
 
We are having the same problem with Win2000 on our LAN
hanging up when using Solomon Accounting, Excel and
designer open at the same time. Looking for solution.
