Hello,
One of customer servers has been running slow and then sorts itself out
after a few hours for the last few days now. The general behaviour is that a
user will report slow traffic on the server and then when I connect up to is
extremley slow to respond to any tasks, without doing anything it sorts
itself out after a few hours.
In the Eventlog, it logs this error every minute.
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Perflib
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1015
Date: 09/05/2007
Time: 12:55:17
User: N/A
Computer: 8XWXF0J
Description:
The timeout waiting for the performance data collection function "PerfOS" in
the "C:\WINNT\system32\perfos.dll" Library to finish has expired. There may
be a problem with this extensible counter or the service it is collecting
data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was
attempted.
However, it does not seem to help in troubleshooting why this slow behaviour
occurs. The server has been restarted and I am going to be running
poolmon.exe tomorrow to see if there is a memory leak.
It does not seem to happen at a particular time but I was wondering if there
was anything that I could do and test to determine what the problem is.
Many thanks,
Luke
