You can include Windows 95 or Windows 2000 computers on
your network. However, these computers may require
additional software to allow you to share folders or a
printer. Consult the documentation that came with those
computers.

Can you please describe your problem and what you're trying to accomplish in
some detail? The article you quote is very generic and your needs are not
clear.

Yes and thanks for asking. I am trying to copy the files
from an older Windows NT and Windows 2000 machine to my
newer Windows XP machine. The older boxes have ended
thier useful life, however they have data, basically 6Gb
of old email, that I don't to loose.

I have a simple ethernet hub that all are connected to. I
can change the workgroup on the Windows NT machine and it
can see the XP. The XP machine has never seen the NT. I
have in the past, copied files from the NT to the 2k, but
I can't change the workgroup on the 2k machine.

All I want to do is Share the XP's hard drive. Search and
find the XP from the NT and 2k, then copy and past the
files.

Thanks again... Brian

Should be simple enough, I think. Create a destination folder on the XP
computer to receive the files from the donor machines, share it, and give
rights to it to a known account on the XP computer. Use that account to log
onto the NT and 2000 computers, then connect to the shared folder on the XP
computer and copy your files. If for some reason you can't do that (you
can't create new accounts on the NT/2000 computers, for example) you should
still be able to connect to the share drive by mapping to it and when asked
for the credentials to connect to it, provide the account on the XP machine
that has rights to the folder.
