I have been told that System Restore does , in fact, exist
in Windows 2000. All my Microsoft literature does not
mention this. In fact, all I see is Me and Xp and 2003
that have it. However, the person who told me this also
told me that the proof is in a folder that Windows 2000
has called Restore. Can anyone tell me if this is true or
is he mistaken?

There is no System Restore in Windows 2000. Antivirus software can create a folder called RESTORE (System Restore's folder is
_RESTORE). But if you don't believe have a look. Type System resore in the Help Index. WinME is a newer operating system than
Windows 2000 and XP is a kind of a hybrid of 2000 and ME.

He is mistaken.
There is NO system restore in Windows 2000.
ME, XP and 2003 all came out after 2000.

2003 doesn't have System Restore either, though there are hacks out to make
it install, it probably violates a license or two

Nope
Try booting with F10 just as Starting bar begins on startup and you have
several choices.
Start computer in Safe Mode, last known good configuration, debug mode, etc.
Read a little in the help files about those.
Also recommend you make an ERD and a full backup with system state to back
up your registry.

That's a different type of System Restore :-)

ME, XP and 2003 all came out after 2000.

Furthermore, there is no folder names "Restore" in a standard Win2K
installation.
